Do VM clones also clone what's on the active ram disk?

Hey guys,

I've been put in charge of figuring out an issue and my VMWare experience is very limited, so I would really really appreciate any help.

In our environment, we have two servers, one running vCenter 5.0 and the other 5.5. We have vSphere doing nightly clones of our virtual machines from one server to the other, which hosts the backups. Recently, we were posed with the question of whether or not VM clones also clone what's on the ram disk.

For example, let's say I have a text file open on a VM, but it's not saved to the disk. Then vSphere does it's nightly clone. If I fired up that backup that was done, will I have the text file on the backup load up as well, or does vSphere scrap/not copy this? This also brings up the question on where I could adjust the settings to turn this option off, if it is in fact the case. Again, this is not my area of expertise, so if I forgot to put any other important information, please excuse my ignorance. Regardless, thank you for your time.
